The infection rate in Dumfries & Galloway has been very low throughout the pandemic and we have had both vaccinations. In accordance with Scottish government rules and guidelines for the protection of guests and ourselves we have introduced the following safety procedures. Amendments will be made when any rules change, we will also advise guests of these changes if they occur before their arrival date. With Helen’s part time job as a home care assistant we have made ever effort to protect her so she can protect the people she cares for. To make sure this continues we have added our own specific rules which may be even more strict.

Scottish Rules Differ

Scotland has different rules from those in England You must still wear a mask in shops, pubs and restaurants. If you forget to bring one we can give you a mask.

Travel Restrictions

The Scottish government has the right to impose travel restrictions into Scotland from other parts of the UK - we will abide by these restrictions. If it effects you we will offer alternative dates or a refund of your deposit.

Self Isolating from Holiday or Visiting from Abroad

Under no circumstance are you allowed to visit if you are in a self isolation / quarantine period. When this ends in the UK we would ask if you have returned from another country please confirm you have been: - double vaccinated will have been - back in the UK for at least 7 days before visiting us - have had a negative covid test 3 days before your visit. If you become infected before, during or after a visit

To ensure our protection please postpone your booking if you develop virus symptoms (no

matter how mild) or you are in a self isolation period which ends sooner than 2 weeks prior to

the date of your arrival. You will not lose any deposit paid.

It is very important that if you have had the virus that you are absolutely sure you are

completely free of it before visiting us.

If you develop virus symptoms (no matter how mild) while here please advise us immediately

so we can arrange tests.

If you develop virus symptoms (no matter how mild) within 7 days of returning home please

advise us as soon as possible preferably by phone so we can arrange tests.

Number of guests

The physical size of the cottage means under current rules we have to limit the number of

people stay to one household at a time.

We are looking to allow different households to visit after the 9th August 2021 subject to rule

changes occurring.

Cleaning protocols.

Before your arrival all areas accessible to you will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

Additional cleaning will occur as required.

On arrival

When you arrive you will be asked to sanitise your hands.

Please carry your bags to your room unless you require assistance.

Hand washing

As you have been doing for the past months please regularly wash your hands for 20 seconds.

Soap / hand wash is in your room and / or bathroom.

Social distancing

While we will do our best to maintain a 1m separation from guests this is also dependent on

your co-operation too.

Bathroom

The main bathroom is for the sole use of guests. The smaller toilet is not to be used by guests.
