The infection rate in Dumfries & Galloway has been very low throughout the pandemic and we have NOT had the Corona virus.In accordance with Scottish government rules and guidelines for the protection of guests and ourselves we have introduced the following safety procedures.Amendments will be made when any rules change, we will also advise guests of these changes if they occur before their arrival date.With Helen’s part time job as a home care assistant we have made ever effort to protect her so she can protect the people she cares for. To make sure this continues we have added our own specific rules which may be even more strict.
Scottish Rules may differ
There is a possibility that Scotland has different rules from those you are used to.To ensure you know the rules we will email a link to Scottish regulations in addition you will be reminded of the rules here when you arrive.
Your Region in Lockdown
Scotland - You are welcome to visit if you are in Tier 2 or lower.We will take a provisional booking from anyone in Tier 3 or above for dates in December onwards, which will be accepted if your region goes in to Tier 2 or lower.England - we will take provisional bookings for dates after 2nd December which will be accepted if the lockdown ends and / or your region then goes in to Tier 2 or lower.Wales - once your 2 week lockdown ends or local restrictions allow you to travel.If your area goes into lockdown before your visit we will offer a full refund on any deposit paid or you can transfer your booking to another date.
Self Isolating from Holiday or Visiting from Abroad
Under no circumstance are you allowed to visit if you are in a 14 day self isolation period.If you have returned from any holiday abroad or are visiting from another country please confirm you will have been in the UK for at least 7 days before visiting us.If you become infected before, during or after a visitTo ensure our protection please postpone your booking if you develop virus symptoms (no matter how mild) or you are in a self isolation period which ends sooner than 2 weeks prior to the date of your arrival. You will not lose any deposit paid. It is very important that if you have had the virus that you are absolutely sure you are completely free of it before visiting us.
If you develop virus symptoms (no matter how mild) while here please advise us immediately
so we can arrange tests.
If you develop virus symptoms (no matter how mild) within 7 days of returning home please
advise us as soon as possible preferably by phone so we can arrange tests.
Number of guests
The physical size of the cottage means under current rules we have to limit the number of
people stay to the following:
One person on their own.
Two persons from one household or in a support bubble / extended household.Cleaning protocols.
Before your arrival all areas accessible to you will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
Additional cleaning will occur as required.
On arrival
When you arrive you will be asked to sanitise your hands.
Please carry your bags to your room unless you require assistance.
Hand washing
As you have been doing for the past months please regularly wash your hands for 20 seconds.
Soap / hand wash is in your room and / or bathroom.
Social distancing
While we will do our best to maintain a 2m separation from guests this is also dependent on
your co-operation too.
This requirement whether with 1 or 2 guests means we cannot join you in the hot tub.
Breakfast / Dining arrangements
Guests will eat breakfast on their own.
For the evening meal, due to social distancing, it will not be possible for us to eat with guests if
more than one person is staying.
Bathroom
The main bathroom is for the sole use of guests. The smaller toilet is not to be used by guests.
Visiting places
If you go anywhere during your visit where you could meet others, eg shop, museum, etc a
scarf or face mask is required. If in doubt wear a mask.
Final Payment
At the time of booking you can pay the whole amount in advance.
Hands should be cleaned with sanitiser before using the card machine
If you use online banking you can pay by bank transfer.
